Time is going by so quickly and I'm thinking of going back to school soon. When the kids were younger, I thought about all the hours I spent at the library doing research for papers. That thought alone stopped me from getting my bachelor's degree. The kids are getting older and now with the internet, I shouldn't have to spend days at the 42nd Street NYC Puvlic Library or any other resource library. Yay, internet! Google has made it easy to find anything under the sun, but Wiley InterScience can help you find the journals, reference works or books you need for social science projects.
Wiley InterScience may be my new best friend. I'm toying with the idea of teaching. Why? I love kids. My children are getting older. I've considered taking the training to become a foster parent, but I think becoming a teacher may be more rewarding for myself and the children. I may even decide to go into special ed. Why not? I have learned a lot about the system, thanks to The Little One. I'm familiar with many of the programs within my community, made many great friendships and working relationships. But, I digress.
EcoQuest Intl is a portal to over 3 million articles across 1400 journals. Here's where it becomes indispensable. I have a college paper due about early childhood. I need to cite specific case studies, medical proof and psychological analysis to substantiate my argument. I can visit this one site and obtain all the information I need in one place from reputable sources.
So why not use Google?
Google is great. I use only Google as my search engine. On the other hand, you don't have specialized content. You have to sort through blogs, websites created by individuals that are not experts and read a lot of opinions. Google is great, but when you need to give references, you want to save time...right? Wiley InterScience gets you all the information you need.
That's my plan for the next 5 years. I'll still blog and run all 28 of my sites, but I'll just add school and then the teaching job. It will only be for a few years. I won't be doing it for the money, I'll be doing it for the kids. (Having summers off isn't bad either.)
:)
So, what are your plans for the next 5 years?
7 kids, autism, a large blended family & so much more. Never a dull moment...

Hey Supamom 1, it's Supamum 2 here. Do it, girl. I went back to university this year to finish teaching and do not regret one moment. If anything else whislt you are studying towards thet little bit of paper that says "you're a Teacher" ( and we all know any mum is already a teacher) you will find yourself better equipped to help with your kids school work. Plus all the "extra" knowledge we have from having kid with special needs, the resource we have, the wily ways we know..all really do make you stand out from the average undergraduate and even post grad.student.:) Do it, do it, do it!
Your idea of going back to school is great! Maybe in a few years I'll do the same but it's still too early for me. Now I have other things to take care of like family and my new job:)
You have a lot of good information on your blog! I taught an autistic child piano lessons, so reading about it here has helped me for when I teach more autistic children. Thanks!
