Music is the Key for This Autistic 8yr old

The Little One enjoys watching movies like High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls and Minute Men. What do all of these movies have in common? They have lots of music and choreographed scenes.

The Diva spends a lot of time watching movies with him. They were watching Across The Universe on Youtube, when she came across Grease. She played a couple of clips for him and he was mesmerized. I told his Dad about it and he bought him the movie. The Little One uses the remote control to go to scene selection to watch the exact scenes he likes. This time, he used the fast forward option to get to scenes with the singing and dancing. He loved the last two songs the best.

His fascination with music is interesting. I always wonder if he hears things differently. Today I came across the clip about David Militello. He's an 8 yr old autistic boy, that has a beautiful voice. He has Asperger's and says music is the key that brings him back. I've heard of music therapy, but it's not available here. Even if it was, it wouldn't be covered by the district and I can't afford it.
