Summer is Around the Corner!

Yay! I can't wait. I'm joining the YMCA to get into shape. Who wants to walk around with extra weight? Not me. For this reason, I'll be hiring a personal trainer. I need someone to be there, motivating me and helping me with the free weights. I want specific results and I'm not an expert.

For those of you that are brave, there are appetite suppressants that are delivering results. I'm a chicken and so, I never take pills. I don't even like to take Tylenol or Bayer. For those of you that are interested, the name of the diet pill is Phentermine. It's a prescription strength diet pill, available without a prescription. What does this mean? If you use popular prescription drugs for weight loss, you amy save some big bucks by switching to these. Hey, you can still lose the weight, but gain some bucks!

Diet sensibly and never overexert yourself while exercising. Always remember: Too much of a good thing can be bad for you!

A Different Type of FundRaiser

Being a mom, I'm always on the lookout for a different kind of fundraiser. Here's a quick question, raise your hand if you are tired of the overpriced chocolate, candles, pizza dough and wrapping paper your schools peddle for fundraising? That many of you feel the same way?!

This is an unusal fundraiser because it is something that everyone uses often, most likely on a daily basis. How many of you have to use a battery to power your CD player, Ipod, car, lawn mower, or laptop? Most of us do. Well, Interstate Battieries carries all of that and lots more. They also have a great fund rasing program that can help your school or organization earn up to 40% of the sale.

Interestate Batteries is the one stop shop for all of your battery needs. They sell batteries for every need including: hearing aids, tractors, wrist watches, digital cameras, pda's laptops and more.

Before your school starts another boring fundraiser, jot this URL and hand it to the PTO/PTA chair person. You may earn lots of money for your school. Visit their site and read about an interesting success story!

Sanjaya Malakar: What Were You Doing When you Were 17?

Poor Sanjaya Malakar, he's only a kid with a dream. Week after week, people love him or hate him. Nevertheless, he gets up and smiles from ear to ear. He entertains America. American Idol has become more popular with this kid's antics. No one can argue. He has topped the search engines for weeks!

What will he wear?
How will his hair look?
Will he sing a song that flatters his vocal range?
What will be said this week?
Who will try to starve today?

Remember what it was like being 17? Now think about how brave this young 17 year old is to stand before us all and sing. There are websites that have sprung up, trying to get people to vote him off. However, he's still standing!

The kid has star quality. He has America talking. Ask a non American Idol fan about the contestants, you'll get a blank stare. Mention Sanjaya and they smile.

American Idol may have been revivied by Sanjaya. Ride the wave, it may be short lived...

Ckeck out the Squidoo lens Sanjaya Malakar. Watch his interview, see his hairstyles and more!

Sign the Historic Autism Services Bill!

One of my closest friends sent me this email. Her son is also autistic. She often shares resources with me.

I wanted to share this with everyone. Please, email this page to everyone and let's get this passed! Our children need all the help they can get to make their future easier.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone:
Last Tuesday amid much fanfare, the Expanding the
Promise for Individuals with Autism Act of 2007 was introduced by
Senators Clinton (D) and Allard (R). Finally a bill that begins to
address the service needs of individuals with autism -- we have
reason to celebrate!
The proposed legislation aims to:

• for the first time, convene a task force to evaluate and report on
evidence-based biomedical and behavioral treatments and services
• establish State-based demonstration grant programs to provide
evidence-based autism treatments, interventions, and services for
children and adults
• support protection and advocacy systems to address the needs of
individuals with autism and other emerging populations of individuals
with disabilities.
• fund expanded access to coordinated multi-agency treatments,
interventions, and services to children
• provide supplemental grants for training and technical assistance
to service providers and educators and to establish a national center
on autism information.
That said, now the real work begins -- we must work to get every
Senator we can as a cosponsor of this bill. Please take the time to
go to the ASA's website and respond to the action alert.
Here's the article:

What if... Ciara Asks

Yeah what if I had acted like him? Not that I wanted to stay with my ex-husband. He was and continues to play with fire. My kids are more important to me than a superficial thrill. I want to stay healthy so that I can be there for all there firsts. You know, their first love, their first day of high school, first day at college and their first job. But what if I had played games? I'm sure he would have been a good boy...or perhaps not.

The Chatterbox wanted me to see this video. It's by the R&B artist Ciara asks. Well when I was single, I was thoughtless. Not intentionally. I was always the type of girl to take a guy's school, job and family into consideration. I asked how their day was and actually listened. I tried new things. You know, ate at different restaurants, listened to different arstists and visited different places. I like the idea of sharing cultures, religious beliefs and art. Unfortunately, many guys fell in love. My parents raised me to be polite and it was misconstrued. They thought I was in love too. I was guilty of not returning phone calls from those that turned into stalkers. How many times can someone beep you in one night....especially when no plans were made to hang out? How many times can someone call your job or your home without stepping into the thin line between a friendship and an obsession. There were times I shut off my beeper, screened my calls and had others lie about my whereabouts. I never told them I loved them and I think that makes a difference. See, when you're married...I think that a commitment has been made. When you're dating someone or getting to know someone...it's a whole different ball game, right?

Anwyay, watch the video. I like it. It's true. Boy, I'm glad I never have to ask that question: "Where have you been?"

Here's the link to the video. I put it this way, so that it wouldn't auto start. Click on the Ciara and scroll down to "Like a Boy"to watch the video.
