Infertility is one thing that I have never had to deal with. I always been "blessed" and never experienced the pain that other women in my church felt. There were even a few women that resented my sister and I for our ability to conceive, have a baby and revert to a size 3/4 without any exercising or diet. I had one friend that suffered through a lot of procedures to try to conceive a child with her husband. She was severely overweight which didn't help the situation either. Her team of doctors reminded her often.
Her desperation to conceive led her to many specialists, tons of medical bills and regualr procedures that drained the couple physically and emotionally. She told me about the different shots, pills and diets she endured to conceive. Couples are now resorting to alternative treatments for infertility that seem to be working. Acupuncture and other forms of Chinese medicines are treatments practiced at The Berkley Center for Reproductive Wellness. For more information about this form of treatment, visit the blog http://www.berkleycenter.typepad.com/.

A Day in My Life with 7 Kids!
All stay at home moms know what it's like during Christmas vacation and spring break. Luckily during Chritmas vacation, kids are usually playing with their new gifts. That keeps them busy for a little while. Spring Break is different. They mope around and tell you a MILLION times how bored they are. I had a coworker that told me her kids never said that to her. One day I asked her why and how she achieved that.
This was her answer:
"My kids NEVER say they're bored because if they do, I show up with a bucket, disinfectants and sponges. I hand it to them and make them SCRUB the walls!"
Hey, it was obviously effective for her. Her home was spotless and she never dealt with annoying, whining behavior.
Watch this video and tell me whether or not you can relate...

She Grew Up and Became a Star!
This is a cute video featuring Hillary Duff singing her ABC's. She was adorable. Watching this video should calm the fears of many moms. Just because your child doesn't rattle off their ABC's correctly doesn't mean they're doomed. It wasn't too long after this this that Hillary landed her first lead role as Wendy in the Caspar Series.

Eight Reasons Why WE Should WIN The HP Camera!
I'm sure Ted and all the PPP staff knew that I was going to post an entry. There are many reasons why I would love to win a HP digital camera and printer. First of all, I am single-handedly raising 7 kids (of which two are not even biologically mine!) Obviously, I can't afford to buy one. To complicate matters, my oldest biological child has ADD and the 5 year old is autistic. I blog for a living...need I say more. (Oh and child support you say? Don't make me laugh. He's over two months behind and I didn't even get a payment for Christmas!)
For those of you that are not familiar with my blog, here are a few of the highlights of our year...
From the beginning of the year to August. Nightmarish.
January, the 4 year old broke his leg. I spent the next several months living in the living room. I gained weight from the stress. Went up two sizes-damn! Had my electricity shut off. Almost had the car repossessed and my daughter outgrew all her clothing. (Thank God my sister sent a gift card to buy her some things). The car insurance lapsed, ya think? Oh and I got the news that two of the kids need braces, which I have to pay for. Still haven't been able to save for that. The clock is ticking...
In August, there was back to school shopping. Their great grandfather had a stroke, so their father didn't make his child support payments. Backed up again.
September brought more school supplies, school picture payments and JROTC fees. Had I known JROTC was going to be so expensive, I would have never agreed to it. The guidance counselor encouraged it, due to my son's ADD. My pocket could have done without it!
In October an idiot that was hunting deer chased the animal right in front of my car. I hit it, over $2600. in damages-still haven't been able to pay for the repairs.
November brought vet bills totaling over $1100.00. I had to pay it, actually I borrowed half of that. Still owe it too!
December was a great one. Four of the kids failed their eye exams. Translation: four pairs of glasses. Had to pay for that. I think the kids need to see. The electric bill has to wait.
Christmas? Thank God for my family. I can't buy my kids gifts. I'm blessed that they know I'm doing as much as I can. I can't do much more than that.
A camera is a luxury I can't afford. I would love to buy one, but I think the kids' braces are more important.
Here are the 8 reasons why we should win a HP digital camera and printer:
Reasons Number One and Two: The Little One (5) and The Chatterbox (15) Do you really want me to keep getting scratch drawings from Chucky E. Cheese? She'll be celebrating her 16th birthday in April. We could use the camera!
Reasons 3 and 4: Sleepy Dwarf and The Comedian Yes, I know..more Chuck E. Cheese pictures!
Reason 5: The Diva and her obsession with The Jonas Brothers Every time she goes to a concert, she has to borrow her grandmother's digital camera. BTW, it is really old!

Reason 6: The Entrepreneur He loves the camera!
Reason 7: The Princess is growing fast and I need to capture those tear jerking moments like this one. Look, no bottom teeth!
Here is reason number 8: I can document my weight loss and not have to use my camera phone! The pictures are the size of a thumbnail!

If we win, my plan is to use the camera for three income streams:
1. PPP postings -of course.
2. We will be submitting photos to three reputable companies that pay for stock photography. As you can imagine, we could use the income. (We could add digital photography as a source of income, besides the blogging...)
3. The camera will be used to take pictures of the tons of STUFF we want to sell on ebay. We have so much stuff to sell, it might even pay for our car insurance for the YEAR!
As you can see, we have a plan to utilize the camera to it's maximum income potential! I hope we will be chosen, but I understand there are many, many bloggers trying to win too!
Thanks for this opportunity. At least I got another reason to post pictures of my 7 dwarves!

When it Comes to Hand Guns Safety is No Accident
Moving to the country from the city was a big change. There were several reasons that I chose to make the move. They all involved the kids. I wanted them to attend a better school. I had attended Catholic School and I knew it would be out of our financial ability. Public schools in the city are overcrowded and lack funds. Once I saw the schools they would attend I knew I had to move. The overcrowding and the outside influences that abound in the city were also a concern. I also wanted my kids to have freedom to play outside. I would have never let them out of my sight in the city.
The positives of living in this rural community far outwiegh the negatives. There is one thing that I really dislike. Hunting is a huge pasttime here. It is also a way to conserve money (by eating venison). What worries me is the easy access many people can have to a person's guns if they are not stored appropriately.
In this house, there is a closet that has a lock that requires a key. I'm convinced that the origianl owner of this house was a hunter. I belive that the door had a lock to keep others away from the guns. In my opinion, gun safes are safer. They are sturdier, harder to break into and stronger at relaying the message of danger than other methods.
Even police officers should own a hand gun safe especailly if they have children. Children tend to lose their better judgement when they are around peers. The last thing anyone wants is to have their child or their child's friend injured because of not taking approriate precautions.
Visit Patriot Safe and take the proper steps to protect your children and their friends' from your hunting rifles and/or hand guns. Always remember, safety is no accident!

This Bed is My Goal!
The new year is coming and I still haven't been able to buy the bed that I want. Remember, I told you that the baby broke my canopy bed. I was doing well, earning enough to purchase the bed-cash and then... I hit a deer. Several thousand dollars in damage and then...my ex stopped paying child support. He's now TWO months behind. To make things even more difficult, the dog got sick. The down payment for the procdure he needed was......$600.00. Then when I picked him up, I wrote out another check for $484. I had to take him back to have stitches removed and then ..another $100.00.
Needless to say, I told the kids that saving the dog's life was their Christmas present. I'm so behind on the bills, my credit score is non existent. All the hard work this year, down the drain. But I'm not giving up! I never do.
After I pay for the car repairs, the money I borrowed for the electric bill and vet bill from my Dad and catch up with the bills-I want these bedroom sets. Actually, this is the exact bedroom set I want. I wish I didn't have to have the Little One in my room. He wrecks everything and he is dangerous. I have dead bolts on all the doors and he still manages to escape. Anyway, getting that bed is one of my goals for this year. I don't care if it takes me all year, I will get that bed! (I'm convincing myself.)
How much does it cost?
Well, I don't know. Great Priced Furniture doesn't have prices on their site.
Here's the process:
So, when I'm ready I will follow the procedure. Until then, I will continue to come back to this post and admire the bed!
One last tidbit of information I left out...January 16th I take two of the kids to the orthodontist. They need either: oral surgery or braces. That pushes the purchase much later into the year, but I'm still going to keep trying!

Retirement Center Meets Club Med
This summer my ex-mother-in-law went to Florida to visit her friends. The married couple had recently moved from chilly upstate NY to beautiful sunny Florida. They sold their beautiful spacious home and moved into a retirement community. Not just any retirement community-one that resembled a resort. My ex-mother-in-law called me from Florida just to "ask" how the kids were doing, but i think it was more to tell me about the place. She loved it so much, she wants to move out there.
What is there to love about a retirement center?
It depends on the facilities. There are some beautifully kept communities that offer all the latest amenities to its residents. For example, there is Seacrest Retirement Center. They are a luxury retirement center located in West Haven, Connecticut. What can be so special about a place like this? A lot, so much so that people go there as a vacation spot. It's called Getaway Stay! Their facilities include full activity-filled days, restaurant-quality meals and personal services.
If she decided to do it, the kids would be sad and thrilled. They loved visiting Florida. They would be ecstatic about spending the day at a retirement center like that!
