Yes, the title is a little harsh. Well so is what the idiot caused.
On Thursday October 19th, the kids were going to attend a football game and a pep rally. I also needed to stop at the supermarket to buy some staples to prepare lunch for The Comedian. He had a JROTC trip scheduled on Friday and he had to bring lunch. On the way there, a deer was crossing the road. I slowed down as it ran in front of my car. In a matter of seconds, a deer that was apparently startled, tried to prance across the road. I couldn't stop and there was a direct impact. It was horrible. It felt like I was dragging the deer under the minivan. The car smelled like burnt rubber. The tires were smoking. The Diva and The Princess were hysterical. They love animals and were upset we had hit and possibly killed a deer.
I grabbed my phone and wouldn't you know it, it just shut off. It was inexplicable. I waited until I saw a car approaching and honked th horn. It was about 6:45pm EST. The car in the opposite lane stopped and I told him what happened. I asked if he could see the deer under my van. He stated that there wasn't a deer there. As he looked into the dark night, he said he could make out a deer limping off the road. At that moment, a SUV came flying around the corner. he parked far ahead and ran out of his car. To make a long story short, he had been hunting the deer and startled it. He caused the deer to run out into the road, unto the path of my car. At the moment, I hadn't realized it. I was in shock and pretty angry after waiting for the Troopers that never showed up. The children were the ones that brought up the conversation and pieced it together.
This morning I waited for the adjuster to call me. The insurance promised they would call me first thing in the morning. At 1:30pm, I decided to drive the van down the road to a mechanic. The estimate they gave me? The damage totals $2500.00 plus they need to do a wheel alignment, the brakes and a minivan rental. In other words, that idiot got a free meal or two and cost me close to $3000.00!
Worst part is that I don't have the money. I'll be blogging trying to make as much as possible during the coming week. Not only do I have to reapir the car, I still have to buy 3 of the kids glasses, 2 of them braces and 2 others winter coats.
The bright side is that I found a new site: InBlogAds. They pay you to provide a link in your content or in your sidebar. The links in your content has a flat fee. The link in your sidebar is purchased by advertisers and you receive $60 of the sale price. Your blog must have a minimum of 20 posts and your paid posts must be on your blog for 30 days. After the 30 days, you receive your payment by paypal (as long as you've reached the $10.00 threshhold.
Geez, it seems that everytime I am about to come out of the hole of debt...something crazy happens and I'm pulled back in.
Lucky me.

I am so sorry about what happened and about all the damage done to your vehicle. Here's hoping that you can find the money somehow/somewhere and that your luck makes a turn for the better. ~Hugs~
OMG that is scary! I once passed a woman on the backroads in CT that had just hit a deer, and she was hysterical. Her whole front end was caved in, it was a big deer. You should have gotten the hunter's license plate number and had him pay for this...it's his fault.
I'm sorry it happened to you!
YouRe right, but I didn't think about it at the time. I was just in shock and the kids were pretty upset.
I wonder if there was a way I couls make him pay for it? I'm caling my sister because she's a pralegal and the idiot told me he lived a mile down the road of the accident. He has a truck with a very distinctive tire cover on the back. You can't miss it! If it is possible, I will find him...
